….I boarded a taxi cab,and was on my way to Sandra’s house. I had mixed feelings running through my mind,,how do I begin to face her,,soon I arrived,, her gate keeper told me she was out of town, she had gone to the country side to meet her parent for two weeks now, that she couldn’t take it after her fiance called off the relationship,, she had taken a month leave from the office oh my God,, I felt the worse had happened,,, not only had May destroyed my home, she had also made me destroy Sandra’s happiness,,I reached for my phone to call her but her phone was switched off..I went back home disappointed, never the less I decided I will keep visiting her place…
Life was becoming boring for me,,I had no one to talk to,,I had stopped talking to ID, but he didn’t seems bothered, I was just a good riddance to him…May was heartless,its been three days,she didn’t even call or texted to apologize, what an unrepentant bastard…I just knew I couldn’t take this anymore,things were getting out of hand….Exactly a week after the whole drama,,,I saw May,and her twin girls ,coming to the house, with so much luggage, what are you doing in my house, I asked in anger,,,,she didn’t say a word,she was still coming, what are you doing here,my child Raymond in his innocence,ran to her, she carried him and said hello Ray,you are going to have a baby to play with soon,,,,I was shocked,does that mean May is pregnant for my husband,, I took my child from her,what are you doing in my house, I asked again..
Am sure you aren’t deaf,you heard me tell your baby he would soon have a baby to play with,and by that, I do not mean toy,but a real baby,I am expecting ID’s child… What,May,how evil can you be,,,,don’t you have a conscience, what did I ever do to you,,,,,I helped you every time you asked of me,how did I ever wronged you,I was in tears,my heart was shattered, I couldn’t take it anymore, I am human after all,,,,
Ohh, Ade baby,that is the issue,I got tired of asking,I got tired been a beggar, I became tired of asking for a cup of water every time,so I decided to own the ocean,she said laughing sarcastically…. Girls inside,she told her kids,,,I just stood and watched,as May and her girls went inside….
I patiently waited for my ID to come back….
Some hours later he was back,,,,,he wasn’t surprise to see them, he hugged May and her kids like they were his own children, while he could barely look at Ray….ID, what is the meaning of this, what is May doing in our house,,,,,well,the house is mine,and I can bring who ever I chose into my house,,,,What? I thought of divorcing him,,but the society will laugh at me,they will think I couldn’t manage my home, they will call me a failure, moreover, my parents are still married, for almost 35years,,,I cant be the first divorcee in my family, I can’t, I am going to endure,they say marriage is not a bed of roses,,this is a phase,it shall pass,,all marriages go through different challenges,, I shall overcome,,,,I cried bitterly,while May went to my kitchen to serve the food I had prepared,, they had dinner like one big family while I and my son sat together, my baby is two years plus, he was oblivious of what was at hand,,he just played round the sitting room,like the baby he is…
It was time to sleep,I went to the bedroom, our bedroom, but I saw May and ID on our matrimonial bed,,what in the name of Christ are you doing on my matrimonial bed, isn’t there any decency left in you,,,I asked may,,,well you can say what ever you like, I am sleeping here,not just to night, but henceforth, there are many rooms in this house, you can pick anyone.. Ade,stop been dramatic, pick any other room,more over, you know in this her condition, she needs me,,,please excuse us,ID added…Really, did those words just left ID’s mouth,,, I left the room,and moved into the guest room,,,if tears could dry,mine would have certainly dried that night…
The next morning, Itohan and Osas came home, I had called them the previous evening,I refused calling my parent because I feared their actions,so it’s been you all this time,itohan shouted at May,you are shameless and useless, I and your brother are in love, we can’t help it will you shut that gutter you call a mouth,Osas said,love, love, do you know the meaning of love,, you came into a happy home and wrecked it how evil can you be ID was in the bedroom,the voices attracted him,and he came downstairs Itohan,Osas,how dare you come into my home to insult my wife,,, what, ID, who gave you another wife,the only wife known and recognised in this house is Ade…there was heat and quarrel in the house that morning,,,, ID succeeded in throwing His sisters out….

Working with Lanre gave me joy. I get to leave the house and breathe in fresh air…coming home every evening was always to a battle ground, despite how much I had avoided May and her girls, she still finds a way to get to me,and of course, ID will always take her side. A few days later,on a Sunday evening, the driver opened the gate. Behold,my parents drove in……
