I begged my mom to help me talk to dad,,,but she took sides with him,that they would want me to marry a Yoruba boy,,someone of same cultural background and tribe like them,she sounded like I had disappointed them,,,, but mom I didn’t fall in love with a Yoruba boy,no Yoruba boy has ever asked me out as a matter of fact,am I supposed to look for Yoruba boys,and beg them to marry me?

Nigeria is just a complex country,,,you finish school and don’t have a fiancé, it is trouble, people and your family will be like,so you just went to school for four years and couldn’t find a man to marry you, as if you went to school to study 100 WAYS TO FIND A MAN, should you still find one like my case,tribe becomes a barrier…
I was really confused, the whole issue was getting me insane,,,,

I begged my parents for over two weeks to change their minds, but they refused,,their minds were made up,,I was confused as to what to do,I loved ID and I was certain he Loved me too, I left home and went to Ibadan to live with my father’s sister,,, I begged my aunt not to tell them I was with her,when they called,I happen to be her favourite niece, and she always gat my back ,,,my parent became worried about my were about,,haven called on all relatives I could be with but all to no avail, they decided I may have gone to Benin to stay with ID,,, getting there ,they were disappointed I wasn’t,,, to be sure ID wasn’t hiding me,father got him arrested, but he kept saying he knows nothing about my were about, which was true,because I didn’t inform him I was going to Ibadan…be was as confused and scared as my parents

Aunt Eniola, whom I was living with in Ibadan, went to Abuja to visit my parent, and joined in the supposed search,,, this time,ID and my family were working hand in hand to look for me,,,my parent allowed him to stay in the house, to help in my search,,,and to put an eye on him,in case he knows my where about. My aunt was my eyes and ears there, my phones were off,so I couldn’t be reached,I got a new sim to reach my aunt…

She asked my parents why I had left the house, and they told her everything…. Aha brother,,,you don’t chose a life partner for your daughter,, you didn’t even refused the Union for a good reason,but because of tribe,,,, we are one Nigeria,,, you are a political leader,and you preach about unity on TV and in conferences, so why can’t you practise what you teach,why bearing a false flag,, you say one thing outside and do another inside….How can we say we are one when we do not practise inter ethnic marriages….. You can’t deprive your daughter of her happiness simply because you don't like the tribe,,,, Bini is a tribe in Nigeria just like Yoruba is, aunt said….

I just want her to have the best,and to have a good man,dad replied,,, come on brother,you are too learned to say this,,there are good And bad men from Bini, just like, there are good and bad men from Yoruba…. Please let them be,,your focus should be ,if the boy in question is of good character for your daughter,as a person,and not the tribe….

You are right my sister,,,the peace and unity we want in Nigeria,can not be attained if we don’t stop tribalism, nepotism, and gender discrimination, dad said……now you are talking like my brother,,,

Even if I want to have a change of heart, where is my daughter,I just hope she’s safe and okay..father said,,,I can never forgive myself, should anything happen to my only daughter,,,don’t be pessimistic haba,don’t worry brother, we shall find her,More over,the police are doing their best,aunt relied….

My aunt was very supportive,,, she didn’t make them know I was at her place,,,,,she was just putting things in together….
When she was certain my parents had calmed down,she secretly put a çalll to me,asking me to come home….
My aunt is my everything…
