Stephanie's Pov:
Tears streamed down my cheeks as Sonia helped me sit on the bed.
"Sonia.... He's gone!" I whispered through tears, feeling the ache of loss that I couldn't escape, hoping the audience would feel my deep grief.
"Calm down, Steph", she said as I shook my head in disagreement.
"I can't..." I sighed loudly as I picked up my cell phone.
"What are you doing?" Sonia asked anxiously
"I want to let them know that I had a miscarriage," I said, feeling the weight of secrecy pressing down on me, as Sonia quickly snatched the phone from me, emphasising the importance of this hidden truth.
"What the.... Hell no!" She screamed at me as I stared at her in surprise.
"What do you want me to do then?" I said as tears rolled down my cheeks again.
"How can you even think of calling them? Are you ready to lose your Alexander?" She asked as I shook my head.
"I don't want to... I don't even think I can bear it, but what happened has happened," I said as I mopped my face with a handkerchief.
"Wise up, girl... Will they find out you had a miscarriage without you telling them or without me telling them?" Sonia's words made my stomach tighten, emphasising the danger of secrets and the fear of exposure.
"What are you insinuating?" I asked
"You can't let the Smiths know that you lost the baby," Sonia said, her voice tense with concern, revealing her protective instincts and the stakes involved.
"What? How is that even possible?" I half-yelled
"You don't have to tell them anything... Just do the right thing" Sonia eyed me, and I laughed heartily.
"Cheers..." We said and jammed our glasses.

This is the best thing to do.
I laughed excitedly as I picked it up.
I'll have to be wearing this to have a big tummy.
It's actually a fake stomach.
After nine months, I will go to the hospital for my son.
Adopted
I still have you wrapped around my finger, Alexander.
I burst into laughter.
Amaya's Pov:
I stared directly at his picture.
Tears circulated in my eyes and rolled down gradually.
"Am I his wife to be and mother of his unborn baby?" Those words kept echoing in my ears.
How could he do that to me?
"Amaya... What happened?" I heard Lucy's voice from behind.
I quickly hid his picture in my gown's pocket and wiped my tears off immediately.
"It's nothing", I lied as she sat on a log of wood beside me.
"I know he broke your heart", she said as tears began to rush down my face again.
I tried blinking it back, but I couldn't just do it.
"Lucy..." I called in tears.
"I'm listening", she replied
"Is love this painful?" I asked anxiously
"Sometimes it is, my dear sister", Lucy said
"Have you ever fallen in love?" I asked
"Yes, Amaya, but it ended up painful as well", Lucy said
"So it's always painful", I shook my head.
"Not always... If I were you, sister, I would fight for what is truly mine," Lucy said as I exhaled deeply.
She's right!
I can't give up just yet...
Mrs Smith's Pov:
I prepared a glass of smoothie and headed straight to the sitting room.
"Here you go, Steph", I said as I handed the glass to her.
"Thank you so much, mother," she said, smiling.
"You are welcome, dear... Anything for my grandson," I rejoiced.
I rolled my eyes.
"The wedding plans, Mom. Is Alexander making any efforts on that?" She asked
"Don't bother your pretty self, my dear... I have everything taken care of" I smiled.
She smiled broadly as she sipped her drink.
Alexander's Pov:
If she's angry with me, then of what use is my miserable life?
I shook my head in sadness.
For the past two weeks, I haven't even gone to the office.
I quickly picked up a tablet.
I removed 10 pills from the tablet.
I'm ending it all today, a decision heavy with despair, leaving the audience with a sense of looming tragedy and emotional tension.
I quickly picked up a glass of water and drank from it.
I was about to take the pills when my cell phone rang....
